CPT McCullough: Infantryman’s SuperBowl

Baker Company 2-9 IN (CAB) participated in Advanced Gunnery at KTC during September to October, 2009. This event provided the company with the opportunity to take part in many high intensity training activities. As a mechanized infantry company, B Co. had to train not only its mounted crews but also its dismounted infantry.

The high point for the infantry training was the Squad live fire. This event provided a Physical challenge to the dismounted Soldiers and a leadership change to its junior leaders. Over the course of three days six squads were training and despite the sweat and dirt they all had a smile on their faces when the training was over. This event is the dismounted Infantry Soldier’s Superbowl and it provides the foundation for all Combined Arms Training.

The Mounted Soldiers Conducted Bradley Table VIII. This event is the qualifying event for al Bradley crews and combined with the Squad live fire provided the foundation for the Capstone event of this Gunnery, bradley Table XII, the platoon Combined Arms Live Fire.
