The Brigade

The 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team is the only U.S. heavy combat brigade on the Korean peninsula. Its Soldier train and maintain to always be ready to “Fight Tonight”. The brigade consists of six battalions: 2-9 Infantry (Manchus), 1-72 Armor (Crusader), 4-7 CAV (Saber), 1-15th Field Artillery (Guns), 302nd Brigade Support Battalion (Iron Horse), and 1st Brigade Special Troops Battalion (Spartans).

The brigade is located on Camps Casey and Hovey near the city of Donducheon, about 2 hours north of Seoul.

This is the Iron Brigade blog where you will find the most recent news stories, videos, and photos about the Iron Brigade straight from the Soldier who serve here. 1HBCT is located at Camps Casey and Hovey in the Republic of Korea and falls under the 2nd Infantry Division.

The blogposts, photos and videos are primarily those of the Soldiers of the 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team unless otherwise stated. The 1HBCT Public Affairs Office manages this site, but the content and submissions come from the great Soldiers of this Brigade.


SUBMISSIONS

If you are a member of the 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team and would like to submit content to the blog, call the Public Affairs Office at 010-8500-5638

You submissions will be screened for Operational Security violations and professionalism, but the text, photos and videos submitted will be posted on the blog as received.
